Job Purpose:
The MIS Analyst will be responsible for understanding the strategic and organizational goals of the business as well as individual programs and operating methods. Working as part of our IT Applications team, the MIS Analyst will help convert our business goals to business reports and dashboards via communication with different department heads and executives. The MIS Analyst must be self-directed, detail-oriented and be able to work with bleeding edge technology in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as an evangelist for MIS benefits across the organization promoting ERP and BI usage to relevant departments and executives.
- Develop and maintain data knowledge across multiple systems, processes, infrastructure and resources.
- Develop, implement, manage, and support ERP and BI projects and activities. These projects typically will be major initiatives within a department or will span multiple departments. These activities include:
- Scope, research, plan, design and code reports, analytics, dashboards, internal portals, KPI’s and predictive analysis across multiple functional groups in accordance with the present and future needs of the business.
- Propose business reporting solutions and consistency utilizing multiple toolsets.
- With SQL, develop complex extracts of data for purposes of integrations and migration activities.
- Troubleshoot BI tools and support internal customer issues.
- Execute project activities, timing, deliverables and responsibilities focusing on the most cost effective and time-efficient means of achieving objectives.
- Build, distribute and evaluate technology RFP’s as appropriate.
- Source and manage custom development as required.
- Work with internal and external partners to scope needs and set expectations of each project
- Provide primary communication point and progress reporting with internal and external partners simultaneously on multiple projects
- Establish problem resolution and escalation processes in event of project deviation from plan
- Establish appropriate testing and acceptance programs to ensure project expectations and deliverables meet project specifications
- Participate in user groups and provide technical knowledge to the project stakeholders.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- 2 years’ experience working with Java, SAP/ERP/BI technologies
- Solid understanding of SQL and ETL experience.
- Work in a team-oriented environment where collaboration is encouraged and valued
- Proven project management skills, must be task and goal oriented.
- Understand how engineering teams uses information, what tools are available and how to improve these methods
- Ability to analyze complex tasks/systems/problem, determine possible solutions and design. Implement and evaluate most effective solution
- Strong oral, written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent professional experience
