Licensed Practical Nurse - $25.17/hour
I am looking for a nurse for a low-stress position working one-on-one with a 31-year-old young man, Danny, in his home for a night position in Hudson, Wisconsin.
We are looking for an LPN or RN to work Tuesday and Wednesday nights, about 5-6 shifts a month, 10 pm—7 am.
Danny has a tracheostomy, g-tube, seizure disorder, and is wheelchair-bound. He is very stable medical-wise.
He routinely sleeps very well through the night. The duties would be giving 2 bolus feedings, repositioning a couple of times, changing pads when needed, and the occasional suctioning. He is a very content young man with a great smile!!
There is no agency involved; we are private duty nurses, and the State of Wisconsin pays weekly for the client's care.
Danny has a separate entrance from the main house and his own bedroom and bathroom. The position is autonomous, but his family is available for questions or help if needed. The Internet is available. Many of Danny's nurses work other jobs, and this is their respite job.

Training is provided until the nurse is comfortable with his cares.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the client's airway, keeping it clear of secretions & patent.
- Provide feedings every 4-5 hours by delivering them via bolus.
- Monitor various equipment; e.g., suction machine, oximeter, nebulizer, feet & hand orthotics, oxygen, Vest machine, BiLevel (only on during noc).
- Bath via bath chair and roll-in shower (no bathing during noc)
- Reposition the client periodically to keep him comfortable. The client has a ceiling lift for transfers to and from his bath chair and wheelchair. The client stays in bed the entire night. The day nurse gets the client up for the day.
- Monitor and record patient's condition and document provided care services
- Follow the doctor's plan of care & seizure & universal precautions
- Work within and cooperate with the nursing team.
Requirements:
- Proven nursing experience
- Familiarity with professional and technical emerging knowledge
- Problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
- Compassionate with good communication skills
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Diploma in Nursing (LPN/RN)

Expected hours: 9-18 per week, possibly more if desired.
