This job requires a variety of hours ranging from evenings and weekends for the simple fact that events and booths here in Granbury and nearby areas take place all different days and hours
Complimentary Classes
All employees receive free access to martial arts classes for themselves and their immediate household members.
Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience)
Must pass a background check and complete the SAFESPORT training within 90 days of employment.
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
Flexible schedule, Gym membership, On-the-job training
4 hour shift, Monday to Friday, Weekends as needed
Responsibilities
This role involves teaching techniques, managing class activities, offering one-on-one instruction, and contributing to the overall improvement of students’ BJJ skills in a safe and supportive environment.
Serve as Head Coach in teaching BJJ techniques, including positional control, submissions, sweeps, escapes, and submissions from various positions.
Demonstrate and explain techniques in both gi and no-gi formats, ensuring clarity for students of all experience levels
Provide detailed feedback and corrections during live rolling, drilling, and sparring sessions. Ensure that students are applying techniques safely, with emphasis on proper technique and injury prevention
Class Management and Supervision:
Manage and lead group classes, ensuring that all students are engaged and practicing efficiently.
Organize and supervise warm-up drills, technique-focused drills, and live sparring sessions
Foster a positive and disciplined training environment while ensuring students are respectful and focused
Maintain dojo safety protocols, ensuring a safe environment for all practitioners
Provide one-on-one guidance during private lessons, addressing specific technical weaknesses or areas of improvement
Track student progress, adjusting training plans as necessary to support individual goals, whether for recreational or competitive athletes. Lead in developing strategies and techniques tailored to each student’s skill level
Lead in preparing students for BJJ & Sport MMA tournaments and competitions, focusing on competition-specific strategies, mindset, and conditioning
Offer guidance on competition rules, strategies, and game plans
Support students during in-house competitions and external events, providing cornering advice and emotional support
Administrative and Operational Support:
Assist in managing class schedules, keeping track of student attendance, and ensuring a smooth operation of daily training activities
Ensure dojo equipment (e.g., mats, belts, gis, no-gi gear) is maintained and in good condition
Help maintain a clean and organized dojo environment, following dojo policies and cleanliness standards
Stay updated with the latest trends, techniques, and developments in Brazilian Jiu-Danny Williams Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Participate in ongoing learning opportunities, such as seminars, workshops, and training camps, to enhance coaching skills and personal technique
Share new knowledge and insights with students, helping to expand the overall quality of the dojo’s training program
