The Accounting Manager will oversee and manage daily accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and company policies. This role involves financial reporting, month-end closings, budgeting, and audit preparation. The Accounting Manager will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and leadership to optimize financial operations and support the company’s strategic initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily financial operations.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and SOX requirements.
Prepare and analyze financial reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
Develop and maintain budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with finance leadership.
Coordinate with external auditors and prepare audit schedules as required.
Monitor cash flow, fixed asset accounting, and depreciation schedules.
Implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Review and approve accounting entries, vendor invoices, and financial statements for accuracy and compliance.
Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Extensive experience with NetSuite and ERP systems
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle, JD Edwards, NetSuite, or similar platforms).
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial modeling techniques.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Experience in the entertainment, live events, or music industry is a plus.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines.
This position is based in Los Angeles, CA. Hybrid working schedule, 4 days in office.
The estimated salary range for this position is $125,000 - $145,000 and includes medical / dental / vision / 401k benefits. This represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of DWP's total compensation package for employees.
