Short Intro and About the Job
The Sr. Customer Business Manager, 7-Eleven & Speedway will drive sales strategies to grow Danone business within all Business Units. Be the key touchpoint with your 7-Eleven & Speedway contacts – understanding category growth opportunities and growing Danone business. Understand customer business needs and build short and long-term strategies that support those customer goals while achieving company sales targets and financial expectations. Lead, communicate and coordinate cross-functional company efforts with 7-Eleven & Speedway (e.g., bring in category, omni channel, customer service, etc.) in order to accomplish customer plan.
Objectives:
Build and Execute the Customer Plan to Grow the Business:
- Coordinate selling process for the given customer and categories to deliver financial objectives and prepare, develop and present all sales related customer presentations
- Gain a deep understanding of customer needs and priorities (e.g., their KPIs, business/category goals, etc.)
Enhance Relationship with Customer and Danone:
- Build and maintain relationships with key customer personnel (Category Managers/Buyers and Cross Functional Partners)
- Develop calendar for customer-touchpoints - define who needs to be involved at each meeting, purpose for each interaction, etc. (new item meetings, market visits, etc.)
- Communicate and work alongside team to ensure implementation of Danone business plans
- Engage cross-functional experts with customer as needed (e.g., category deep-dives, omni channel activation, service conversations in coordination with Customer Collaboration, etc.)
Monitor Account Performance and Customer P&L:
- Manage and take ownership of P&L planning and results to ensure customers plans are within company guardrails and meeting growth targets
- Manage total customer spending and assist with deduction management within Danone guidelines
Deliver In-Store Execution Performance:
- Help define what success looks like in store in coordination with the Sales Director
Provide Customer/Category Feedback Internally:
- Communicate customer needs to internal stakeholders
- Lead cross functional team communication (category, customer service, omni channel, etc.) related to promotion, merchandising, and distribution
Accountabilities:
- Develop sales/account plans to meet customer objectives while operating within Danone corporate initiatives and guidelines (e.g., customized SKUs, operational targets, etc.)
- Negotiate with customer on pricing, new items, and promotions
- Prepare for and conduct scheduled customer business reviews
- Collaborate with customer and internal teams on joint business plans
- Represent Danone at annual corporate and franchise tradeshows
- Provide category thought leadership and insights from customer to drive both category and business growth across Danone
- Communicate convenience store channel needs and requirements for product and category development across Danone
- Provide key inputs for demand planning - own the bottom-up forecast
- Manage the P&L and Audit Score compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of customer promotional contracts
- Perform account administration, including finalizing customer contracts and requests for trade funding (beyond plan)
The base compensation range for this position is $125,000-160,000 commensurate with experience. Danone North America additionally offers a performance-based bonus and has a strong benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, 401k Plan, Wellness Program, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Flexible Time Off, and Paid Parental Bonding Leave, among other benefit plan options. The base compensation range for this position is $125,000-$160,000 commensurate with experience. About You
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years minimum with CPG company within a Sales function
- Demonstrated ability to achieve breakthrough results through the course of work
- Excellent business acumen, strategic planning, communication and teamwork skills
- 15-20% travel time
