Overview
This position requires installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems. Troubleshoot electrical problems and make recommendations for improvement. Read and interpret electrical drawings. Operate electrical testing equipment. Inspect electrical work for safety. Comply with all safety regulations. Work independently and as part of a team. Stay up to date on the latest electrical codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a good working relationship with Operating personnel to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
- Responsible for the electrical aspect of construction machinery and equipment for the job/project or facilities.
- Analytically troubleshoot and resolve electrical malfunctions back to OEM Specifications.
- Routinely check the performance of electrical equipment.
- Ensure a clean and safe work area. Must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
- Participate in production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers as it pertains to equipment reliability and availability.
- Prepares reports, forms, records, and related paperwork for assigned area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Basic computer skills including MS Office Suite
- Strong initiative and self-starter with an ability to perform under pressure, keep neat and accurate records.
- Ability to read documents (in English) such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure/equipment manuals as well as electrical/Mechanical schematic drawings.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence (in English).
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers (in English). Spanish as a second language would be beneficial but not required.
- Multi-task orientation with skills related to work prioritizing and the ability to work with the team and communicate with other functions.
- Basic knowledge of Electrical Construction Codes and Practices and material specifications and application.
- 2 Years of Oil & Gas and/or Renewable Electrical experience required; Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician preferred.
- High School Grad or GED, required.
- College or technical training, preferred.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record, required.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs.
- Walking, bending, stooping is required.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator.
- Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
