Overview
A Deepwater Intern is responsible for learning the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of process and utility systems, ensuring safe and efficient production in offshore environments.
Responsibilities
Production Operators
- Start up, operate, monitor, and shut down process and utility systems.
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize process parameters (level, flow, temperature, pressure, etc.) within operating requirements.
- Conduct sampling and act on results to ensure optimal production.
- Troubleshoot to maximize sales quality and delivery volume.
- Maintain discharge water quality within current SBMPC or local guidelines.
- Monitor and operate electrical/hydraulic control panels, safety, and emergency shutdown devices, and Fire and Gas Systems.
- Submit accurate daily production reports as required by company and client.
- Witness third-party calibrations to verify meter factors and volumes.
- Prove export oil meters.
- Operate offshore production facilities in accordance with customer requirements.
- Test, calibrate, maintain, and inspect equipment.
- Complete mandatory paperwork required by customers and government agencies.
- Coordinate logistics for the facility.
- Handle chemical treatment processes.
- Facilitate maintenance operations by applying/removing isolations as required.
- Operate under the Permit to Work (PTW) system, conduct Toolbox Talks, and perform Risk Assessments.
- Advise maintenance personnel on hazards of plant and equipment.
- Maintain clear and precise communication during maintenance operations.
- Supervise activities of vendor and subcontractor personnel.
- Create and maintain effective working relationships and a positive work culture.
Electricians
- Perform maintenance on electrical equipment such as motor controls, batteries, relays, VFDs, generators, and power transducers.
- Conduct electrical isolations and calibrate equipment as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards set by USCG and MMS.
- Assist in developing electrical maintenance plans.
- Adhere strictly to all safety standards.
I&E Technicians
- Maintenance of control systems on platform.
- Calibration of equipment.
- Regulatory compliance.
- Assisting in the development of I&E maintenance plans.
- Strict adherence to all safety standards.
Mechanics
- Operate offshore production facility in accordance with customer requirements.
- Test, calibrate, maintain, and inspect equipment.
- Perform mandatory paperwork required by customer and government agencies.
- Maintain and troubleshoot turbine compressors, generators, gas/diesel generators, compressors, reciprocating equipment (pumps, compressors, etc.).
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- A degree from a technical school in one of the above maintenance fields.
- Medically fit for offshore work per international standards (e.g., ENG1 or equivalent).
