Overview
A Materials Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the supply of materials from the initial demand identification through to use, with a focus on OCTG.
Responsibilities
The main role of this position is to Coordinate the identification and tagging of materials both on land and offshore
Additional Duties if needed:
- Act as a liaison with internal customers to help identify demand requirements.
- Work with other business areas, including coordinators, expeditors, and warehouse/yard operations, to ensure smooth product flow.
- Collaborate with the engineering department to confirm material specifications and request updates to the material master as necessary.
- Identify replacement parts and promote the use of current inventory when possible.
- Monitor supplier delivery dates to ensure all deadlines are met and expedite materials as needed.
- Utilize reports to identify delivery status information and maintain stakeholder/user communication regarding any issues.
- Organize and coordinate the staging of materials and oversee any post-receipt activities such as fabrication, assembly, make-up/break-up, and kitting.
- Coordinate appropriate inspection and testing of received materials and equipment when necessary.
Qualifications
- Warehouse experience.
- Mechanical background.
- Excel experience.
- Must be willing to work offshore
