DCS Infrastructure Engineer - Network, Automation, hybrid cloud environment in Scottsdale, AZ (Onsite)

This role is not just a traditional network engineer but also involves automation, infrastructure as code, and high-availability networking in a hybrid cloud environment.

What the Client is Looking For:

• A highly experienced Network Engineer (8-15 years) with strong CISCO LAN/WAN knowledge.
• Hands-on experience in data center networking, cabling, and infrastructure management.
• A strong background in automation and scripting (Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
• Ability to handle production issues, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with technical and non-technical teams.
• Willing to be on-call and travel as needed.

At least one relevant certification:

• CISCO Certification (CCNP, CCIE, etc.)
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
• Red Hat Certified Specialist
• Automation-related certification

The client is looking for a Senior DCS Infrastructure Engineer - Network with a strong focus on network automation, high-availability infrastructure, and hybrid cloud environments.

Job Summary:

o A Network Engineer is adaptable, creative and interested in being part of a new, dynamic, infrastructure engineering team making a difference. The team focus is innovation and automation. The goal is to deliver 24x7x365 high-availability IT services for an energy efficient semiconductor company. The Network engineering role requires versatility along with creativity. The ideal candidate will know how to think "outside-the-box and will share in responsibilities for automating and supporting the provisioning, configuration and management of Network infrastructure running in a hybrid cloud environment. This role will include working closely with application and infrastructure developers to handle rapid platform deployments and releases. Adhering to industry best practices and compliance in support of onsemi business objectives and user community experience is of utmost importance.

Performance Objectives:
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

o Build efficient life cycle management methodologies of network infrastructure with an "automation first mindset

o Adhere to best practices and procedures for IT Network infrastructure management through daily system monitoring and verifying the integrity and availability of network resources

o Serve as an escalation point for investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving Network infrastructure related issues in production, QA and DEV environments

o Adhere to periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning

o Monitor and perform ongoing performance tuning, resource optimizations, and make improvement recommendations

o Willingness to provide after hours on-call support

o Find ways to report metrics and analytics on the health of Networking technologies

o Coordinate meetings and communicate with non-technical staff on project

o Build and implement Network designs using reference architectures for project and operational needs

Requirements:

o Years of experience: 8 - 15 years' experience with CISCO LAN and WAN administration

o Passive cabling identification, connecting and preparing cross connects, installation to the cabinets, orientation in DC

o Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) from a regionally accredited institution. BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information

o Sciences, Information Technology, or Software Engineering strongly preferred
o Infrastructure automation experience using Ansible, Terraform, Perl, PowerShell, Puppet, Chef or other languages can be beneficial

o Certification: At least one of the following certifications:

CISCO certification

AWS Certified DevOps Engineer

Red Hat Certified Specialist

Automation Certification

Presentation / Communication skills

Willingness to provide after-hours on-call support

Willingness to travel
