The client is clearly seeking a senior-level GCP architect who can not only design and implement cloud solutions but also ensure they are scalable, secure, and cost-optimized.
Core Priorities
Cloud Platform Expertise: Deep understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including compute, storage, networking, databases, analytics, machine learning, and serverless offerings.
Architectural Design: Ability to design robust, scalable, secure, highly available, and cost-effective cloud solutions
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in automation tools like Terraform and Google Cloud Deployment Manager for defining and managing cloud resources programmatically
Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate cloud operations and deployments.
Technical Skills

- Expertise in Google Cloud Platform: Someone who understands GCP inside and outnot just one service, but the ecosystem (compute, storage, networking, data, AI/ML, etc.).
- Architectural Design: Ability to think high-level about system design (performance, HA, DR, security, cost).
- Hands-on with IaC & Automation: Terraform, Deployment Manager, scripting (Python/Bash)not just design, but implementation.
- Strong Data Engineering Experience: Familiarity with tools like BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub suggests the role might also involve building or maintaining real-time data pipelines or analytics platforms.
- AI/ML Awareness: Vertex AI inclusion suggests they might be dealing with ML workflows, model training, deployment pipelines, or even just supporting ML teams.
- Containerization & Kubernetes: Implies DevOps knowledge and likely experience with GKE or similar container orchestration in GCP.
- Deep GCP knowledge,
- Solid infrastructure-as-code and automation background,
- Data engineering AI/ML familiarity,
- Strong Kubernetes experience,
- And someone preferably local to San Francisco and open to a hybrid work model.
