Google Cloud Platform Architect

• Expertise in Google Cloud Platform: Someone who understands Google Cloud Platform inside and out not just one service, but the ecosystem (compute, storage, networking, data, AI/ML, etc.).

• Architectural Design: Ability to think high-level about system design (performance, HA, DR, security, cost).

• Hands-on with IaC & Automation: Terraform, Deployment Manager, scripting (Python/Bash) not just design, but implementation.

• Strong Data Engineering Experience: Familiarity with tools like BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub suggests the role might also involve building or maintaining real-time data pipelines or analytics platforms.

• AI/ML Awareness: Vertex AI inclusion suggests they might be dealing with ML workflows, model training, deployment pipelines, or even just supporting ML teams.

• Containerization & Kubernetes: Implies DevOps knowledge and likely experience with GKE or similar container orchestration in Google Cloud Platform.

The client wants a senior-level, hands-on cloud architect with:

• Deep Google Cloud Platform knowledge,

• Solid infrastructure-as-code and automation background,

• Data engineering AI/ML familiarity,

• Strong Kubernetes experience,

• And someone preferably local to San Francisco and open to a hybrid work model.

Job Description:
Cloud Platform Expertise: Deep understanding of Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) services, including compute, storage, networking, databases, analytics, machine learning, and serverless offerings.
Architectural Design: Ability to design robust, scalable, secure, highly available, and cost-effective cloud solutions
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in automation tools like Terraform and Google Cloud Deployment Manager for defining and managing cloud resources programmatically
Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to automate cloud operations and deployments.
Technical skills:

• Expertise in Big Query, Dataflow, Pub/ Sub handling large datasets.
• Vertex AI and other Google Cloud Platform services
• Monitoring & Cost Optimization
• Containerization & Kubernetes
