Summer School Bus Monitors Needed
~ End-of-School-Year (ESY) Program ~

GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK
Under the direction and supervision of the Director and Assistant Director of Transportation Services, the Summer School Bus Monitor supports the Bus Driver in transporting district students participating in the End of School Year Program safely to and from school.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for loading all special needs students ensuring that they are properly strapped in and secured
- Unload all special needs students and deliver them to teachers or other school personnel
- Assist with students’ needs while they are being transported and attending to their comfort and safety
- Assist the driver in any duties as requested
- Provide care to students without prejudice of their handicaps and respect the rights and dignity of each
- Become knowledgeable with special needs regulations and attend meetings and classes as requested
- Understand that the Bus Attendant is under the direct supervision of the driver during the employment hours
- Understand that students are protected by confidentiality laws

SALARY: $17.00 Per Hour
NOTE
No personal benefits or leave programs (i.e., personal leave, sick leave) are available to summer school employees.
Employment will be contingent on summer school student enrollment.
