This is a face-to-face full-time 9-month teaching assignment at the college, with an anticipated start date of 8/16/25.
Danville Community College seeks an Instructor of Psychology to teach various college classes for a permanent, full-time position. The successful candidate should have experience in teaching, and be willing to teach in a variety of formats such as traditional lecture delivery, online courses, or hybrid courses. The primary responsibility of a member of the teaching faculty shall be to provide quality instruction for DCC students while meeting the varied needs of our student population.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Master’s degree in Psychology OR Master’s degree in any field with at least 18 graduate hours in Psychology is required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to exercise discretion and use sound judgement in decision making.
- Ability to communicate with a variety of students and community members.
- Skilled in monitoring, mentoring, and evaluating.
- Skilled in communicating college policies and procedures.
- Skilled in problem-solving and working effectively with administration, faculty, staff and students.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to utilize campus resources including software and college learning management systems.
- Willingness to explore instruction innovations to interact successfully with an academically varied student population.
- Commitment to scholarship and academic excellence.
- Commitment to teaching excellence with an enthusiasm for teaching and commitment to the community college mission.
- Flexibility to teach off campus/evening courses as needed.
- Ability to travel for professional development offerings.

- Previous teaching experience at the community college level.
- Additional graduate coursework in another humanities or social science discipline.
- Demonstrated experience teaching and developing distance education courses.
