GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:
The Accounting Specialist III will serve as a vital member of the finance team, playing an integral role in ensuring the precision and timeliness of financial record-keeping. This position involves close collaboration with both financial and operational teams to manage daily accounting activities, contribute to the preparation of detailed financial reports, and oversee various accounting functions within the organization. The Accounting Specialist III will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial data and assisting in the smooth operation of the department’s activities. This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Review and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to departmental standards.
- Process and record account entries, ensuring proper categorization within appropriate accounts.
- Develop and implement efficient systems for maintaining financial records, leveraging current technologies for optimal accuracy and efficiency.
- Create and maintain accounting manuals and forms to guide accounting and bookkeeping personnel.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities, including reconciling bank and credit card accounts.
- Coordinate and support annual audits, providing necessary financial reports and assistance during the audit process.
- Analyze financial status, including identifying and reporting on income statement variances.
- Communicate financial results to management, including preparing and analyzing budgets.
- Continuously improve accounting systems and procedures, initiating corrective actions as necessary.
- Oversee tax compliance, ensuring adherence to federal regulations.
- Assist in the development and management of the division's budget.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of three years of accounting experience.
CPA certification preferred.
Salary Range:
$53,580.80-$85,592.00
