Purchasing Agent/Inventory Control
FLSA classification: Exempt
Reports to: Plant Manager
Salary range: salary commensurate based on experience, willing to negotiate, and we offer weekly pay with medical and ancillary benefits available on Day 1.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-4pm with 1 hour for lunch. May be able to be slightly flexible with schedule.

What you will do:
As the Purchasing Specialist, you will be responsible for sourcing new suppliers, ensuring that the purchased products and materials meets specific technical specifications, negotiating purchase terms, and evaluating supplier performance as well as ensuring timely deliveries and resolving any supply issues or discrepancies. Additional duties will include leading a team to acquire the best products for the best prices.
- Represent company with the highest integrity in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
- Research and identify prospective suppliers.
- Serve as a liaison with internal project teams and maintain strong supplier relations.
- Evaluate products and suppliers according to key business criteria.
- Prepare proposals, request quotes, and negotiate purchase terms and conditions.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns.
- Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased items and resolve shortcomings.
- Analyze industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate inventory and procurement records.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
What we are looking for in an ideal candidate:
- ·High school diploma/GED required.
- ·2 years of experience in a purchasing related field strongly preferred. Experience purchasing in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Knowledge of industry suppliers, products, and manufacturing capabilities are preferred.
- Capability to re-adjust and re-prioritize goals to meet the ever-changing demands of the projects at hand.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal, and negotiating/contacting skills.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, SAP, IBM Lotus Notes is preferred.
- This position is not eligible for remote work and requires the employee to be always on-site.
