Job Summary:
The Security Guard’s duties are to observe and report safety or security concerns on DAP Health grounds. The Security Guard acts as a visible deterrent to crime. They monitor the grounds for suspicious activities and watch for any criminal acts or any safety issues.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Monitors building entrances including arrivals and departures of employees, visitors or other persons to guard against theft and maintain the security of the premises;
- Covers the welcome desk, as needed;
- Monitors security cameras for inappropriate activity;
- Patrols buildings and premises on foot or in a vehicle to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates;
- Conducts openings and closings of DAP Health areas and buildings;
- Circulates among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property;
- Responds rapidly to security emergencies within the buildings;
- Responds to calls on radio and security phone regarding reports and alerts;
- Answers alarms and investigates disturbances;
- Notifies proper authorities of any unruly persons we need assistance with to remove them from the premises;
- Notifies police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or the presence of unauthorized persons;
- Participates as a Crisis Intervention Team member to respond to staff crisis buttons;
- Is aware of individuals on the BOLO (be on the lookout) list and monitors premises to ensure they are not on-premises;
- Provides assistance to patients, clients or guests when requested;
- Completes reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences;
- Visually inspects equipment and machinery to detect evidence of tampering;
- Accounts for and accepts DAP Health deliveries, and contacts the appropriate department to pick them up;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to read and write English;
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations of the protection of people, data, property, and institutions, preferred.
Education and Experience
- Active and unrestricted California Guard Card;
- Valid CA Driver’s License with a clean driving record and up-to-date auto insurance;
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross accredited BLS certification;
- Minimum of two years of security guard-related experience or related field, preferred.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds;
- Operates in the internal and external parts of the buildings and requires constant times of standing, walking and some repetitive motion;
- Potential exposure to allergen/irritants and extreme temperatures.
Salary : $21 - $22
