Job Responsibilities
· Lead and model company values, mission, and spirit of the company to ensure that our mission is appropriately conveyed and carried out.
· Manage daily cafe operations while maintaining high standards of quality and service.
· Oversee and execute effective communication between front of house and back of house to ensure that food and beverage offerings are fresh, labeled appropriately, and kept well-stocked.
· Develop, implement and maintain consistent practices, policies and procedures across the operation.
· Manage entire operation of cafe including consistent staff support, customer service, proper scheduling, and planning while upholding standards, consistent excellent product quality and maintaining high levels of cleanliness.
· Coordinate catering and special events.
· Provide employees with consistent and appropriate feedback to facilitate their development and enhance the overall operation.
· Develop programming and events to encourage local engagement and attract more people to the café.
· Interview, hire, and train the highest quality employees.
· Develop and regular and seasonal café menu items.
· Monitor inventory levels and communicate with vendors to maintain business relationships and secure appropriate pricing as needed for smooth operations.
· Demonstrate proper attendance, punctuality, customer service, professionalism, and overall attitude.
· Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
· Monitor activities and events in the community to ensure proper staffing levels.
· Seek to grow customer base and increase cafe traffic by creating and leading promotions as well as maintaining a functional, efficient, pleasant environment and high-quality food and beverage offerings.
· Seek to increase sales, monitors weekly and monthly P&L data and work to increase bottom-line profits.
· Ensure cafe appearance is maintained at all times, including café seating area, condiments, kitchen, restrooms and storage areas.
· Ensure proper equipment functionality and performs or enforces completion of regular equipment maintenance. Utilizes resources and available information to troubleshoot when equipment errors occur; responds in a timely and reasonable fashion to problems.
· Maintain, model, and coach on speed of service and organizes employees to maintain the most efficient workflow and deployment for serving customers.
· Perform all duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
Qualifications
· Strong communication skills
· Ability to work a flexible schedule including when café is busiest
· Basic accounting skills and computer skills
· Event planning
· Familiar with Microsoft word, excel and outlook
· Experience with point of sale systems
· 2 years in café or restaurant management
· Food safety training, i.e. ServSafe
· Reliable and predictable attendance
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 45 per week
