Vet Assistant/Kennel Tech

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a passionate and motivated Kennel Technician/Vet Assistant to join our team and contribute to the well-being of the dogs in our care.

The Kennel Technician / Vet Assistant will provide essential care to dogs at our facility while supporting veterinary staff in medical and day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our dogs, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring every dog receives the attention and care they need to thrive. Key Responsibilities:

Animal Care:

• Feed, water, and provide daily care for dogs, ensuring proper exercise, grooming, and monitoring health conditions.
• Administer medications as prescribed by the veterinarian, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
• Assist in maintaining kennel cleanliness, including washing bedding, cleaning kennels, and disinfecting the facility.
• Provide a high level of customer service to pet owners, addressing concerns and answering questions about their pets’ care.

Veterinary Assistance:

• Assist the veterinarian and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Prepare and maintain medical equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Monitor vital signs of animals under medical care and assist in handling and restraining pets as needed for procedures.
• Record and update pet health information accurately in our system.

Customer Service & Communication:

• Maintain clear communication with pet owners regarding their dog’s care and behavior.
• Educate pet owners on proper pet care, including health, hygiene, and safety recommendations.
• Assist with check-in and check-out procedures for pet boarding, daycare, and grooming services.

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure the facility remains safe, clean, and properly maintained.
• Follow all safety protocols, handling procedures, and guidelines for pet health and well-being.
• Assist with handling emergencies and report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate staff members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
