We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Warehouse Manager with a strong background in produce and warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of USDA grades and standards, be proficient in operating warehouse equipment, and excel in maintaining food safety compliance. This role requires effective leadership, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage receiving operations seamlessly while ensuring safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities and Duties :
Manage receiving operations to ensure smooth, timely, and efficient unloading of shipments.
Communicate effectively with other departments regarding receiving-related issues.
Identify and report questionable product quality to supervisory staff.
Oversee truck unloading, ensuring safety and efficiency, or delegate tasks to team members appropriately.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in compliance with GMP, HACCP, and food safety policies.
Answer phones and two-way radios to assist inbound freight drivers, provide directions, and manage delivery appointments.
Prepare and manage all incoming and receiving paperwork, including generating pallet labels.
Greet and process inbound truck drivers, ensuring accurate documentation and smooth entry procedures.
Input receiving documents into computer systems and manage efficient product slotting within the warehouse.
Record and monitor temperature readings and other data to ensure compliance with HACCP and Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs).
Requirements :
Minimum of 3 years of experience in produce handling and 5 years in warehouse operations.
In-depth knowledge of USDA grades and standards.
Proficient in operating warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, electric forklifts) with current certifications.
Ability to provide Train-the-Trainer certification for warehouse equipment.
Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and food safety procedures.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, though not required.
Strong commitment to following safety guidelines and instructing others on safe operating procedures.
Flexibility to work various hours and days as needed.
