Interior Designer
Darden Architects is seeking an Interior Designer with 5-10 years of progressive work experience. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with strong design and coordination skills who can work independently as well as work effectively with a team. The ideal candidate would possess excellent project management skills, a deep understanding of materials and finishes, and the ability to coordinate with stakeholders, consultants and contractors.
Job activities may include:
- Assist with developing conceptual ideas and design concepts
- Investigating design options
- Researching materials and finishes
- Researching interior projects
- Preparation of renderings and graphics
- Preparation of presentation materials
- Assist in the general preparation of design, construction documents and models
- Preparation of Finish Schedules
- Preparation of Color Schedules
- Preparation of ID Drawings
- Layout of interior elevations
- Review and evaluation of submittals
- Manage projects from concept through completion
- Coordinate specification with all contract documents
Desired Skills and Expertise:
- Proficiency and experience using design software, such as REVIT, SketchUp, Lumion and Bluebeam
- Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail with proactive approach to process improvement and problem solving
- Ability to work on multiple projects at any given time
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Collaborates and communicates effectively within a team
- Contributes to team effort through a spirit of cooperation
- Ability to plan and accomplish goals

- Through understanding of building codes, accessibility standards and safety regulations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in interior design
- Portfolio showcasing previous interior design projects
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, vendors, contractors and teammates
Preferred Qualifications:
- Educated at CIDA accredited program
- Experience in healthcare, education and commercial design
- NCIDQ certification
- LEED accreditation
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary range $58,000 – $66,000 yearly dependent upon experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package:
