JOB OVERVIEW
The HR Compliance Administrator works with the HR Compliance team to safeguard company culture and assets and provide essential risk management by employing expertise in employment related compliance matters and by fairly and effectively resolving employee issues and conflicts. The HR Compliance Administrator is competent to perform the functions of the areas of Returns to Work and Accommodations related to Leave of Absence, State/Federal Labor law Compliance, and support for company responses to unemployment insurance claims.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Unemployment Claims
Assesses, investigates and responds to unemployment claims to ensure effective and fiscally sound resolution of claims. Serves as subject matter expert regarding pertinent federal/state laws and agency regulations; as well as for procedural and system processes and information related to unemployment matters.
Returns to Work and Accommodations related to Leaves of Absence ("LOA")
Ensures compliance with all legal requirements, policies and procedures related to Leaves of Absence management. Responsible for reviewing/assessing LOA return to work and accommodation issues and responding to or escalating as appropriate. Partners with employment law, risk management, and third parties to address concerns.
State/Federal Labor Law Compliance
Manages compliance with requirements of state/federal labor and wage/hour laws related to monitoring, posting, communication, and implementation of any changes or new/annual requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum high school diploma plus 4 years equivalent work experience in human resources, compliance or employment law. Degree in HR/Legal related discipline a plus. Equivalent education, training or experience may be considered.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Reviews and evaluates incoming claims/issues for accuracy, completeness and appropriateness of information included. Conducts necessary follow-up investigation to ensure all essential information has been received.
- Partners with Operations, corporate departments and vendors/third parties to ensure timely and successful resolution of incoming claims/issues
- Conducts preliminary analysis of documentation/information compiled in conjunction with the oversight of compliance issues. Initiates follow-up investigation with appropriate individuals/entities when required.
- Escalates issues timely and appropriately after investigation is developed and ensures accuracy when representing/relaying facts and information related to specific matters.
- Works with databases/information systems/applications to monitor/assess pending matters and initiate necessary follow-up.
- Ensures accurate tracking and follow-up of all critical dates, events and documentation with operations, corporate departments, and legal department. This includes prioritization of incoming correspondence and documents; and making certain all relevant information is sent and/or received and is accurately and consistently recorded.
- Interacts and professionally communicates with all levels of management, operations, external vendors/agencies, and other third parties in the daily activities associated with the administration of compliance matters. This includes preparing and sending appropriate correspondence and/or information as required or requested.
- Develops and maintains systems, written procedures, processes for administration of compliance issues and employment claims. Takes initiative to evaluate and recommend process improvements, changes, new procedures etc.
- Independently prepares and presents to other teams, departments or external vendors general content, metrics, and analytics related to compliance matters/employment issues.
- Additional projects as necessary
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum high school diploma plus 4 years equivalent work experience in human resources, compliance or employment law. Degree in HR/Legal related discipline a plus. Equivalent education, training or experience may be considered.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; Ability and willingness to learn resource applications such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, and external systems, etc.
- Knowledge and understanding of common legal terms, policies, rules, regulations and laws within the practice area
