The purpose of this job is to provide administrative and technical support to Real Estate Directors in their efforts to acquire real estate sites for Darden restaurants. The Real Estate Specialist works closely with the Development Team, Site Development Consultants, Real Estate Brokers and Investment Analysis Team to develop Site Approval packages. This position reports to the VP of Real Estate and supports assigned Real Estate Directors.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- On own initiative or from general instructions, initiates correspondence, submits request forms, and other actions automatically upon the occurrence of specific events in the development process. Follows up to insure the completion/receipt of requested items.
- Researches, compiles, organizes and updates Site Proposal, Market Tour and Capital Project Request Books used by Darden executives in making multi-million dollar decision.
- Updates and monitors critical dates and information in the Development Department database.
- Assists Directors in tracking project, contractual, reporting and other deadlines to ensure timelines critical to the development process are met.
- Coordinates closely with our Brokers across the country to ensure information provided is accurate, complete and timely. Takes action to correct any deficiencies notes.
- Uses various software applications, such as spreadsheets, databases, statistical packages, and graphical packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
- Trains new brokers on Darden's procedures and processes. Update and maintain the broker directory.
- Resolves problems not requiring supervisory review or resolution.
- Creates and maintains operating and archive files.
- Coordinates travel arrangements, schedules/organizes meetings including real estate committee meetings and monthly project reviews, prepares/reviews expense reports, maintains calendars, and processes incoming mail.
- Performs other department additional duties such as invoice payment, managing the dead site list, ordering office supplies, maintaining office equipment, answering department inquiries phone lines.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- At least five years administrative experience in a fast-paced environment reporting to Director level or above.
- Knowledge of real estate and legal terminology, forms and practices a plus.
- Computer literate with advanced level skills in Adobe, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Oracle, Coupa, ArcGISand Lucernex experience a plus.
REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE:
- A high school diploma is required; college coursework or degree preferred.
- Commercial Real Estate experience desirable.
- Experience working with multi-unit restaurant chains desirable.
