The Security Specialist is responsible for compliance with Corporate Security policies, procedures, best practices, post orders, and incident protocols in all areas of security. The Security Specialist will partner with varying teams to provide Life Safety support and guidance to Darden's restaurants across the U.S. and Canada, the Restaurant Support Center, and Distribution Centers. This role will leverage physical security technologies such as visitor management, access control, and camera systems.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Delivers Restaurant Support Center (RSC) campus safety and security through 100% compliance with Corporate Security policies, procedures, best practices and post orders at all security posts; monitors CCTV, access control systems, and other security technologies
- Delivers restaurant operational security support through 100% compliance with Corporate Security policies, procedures, best practices, and protocols supporting Life Safety across Darden’s brands; responds to security incidents, communicates security incidents to Corporate Security Leadership, follows-up on security incidents to resolution
- Supports Darden’s culture by positively representing Corporate Security as a "Security Ambassador" focused on delivering professional, efficient, and effective security services
- Effectively manages additional duties and projects while providing our customers with professional and effective security services
- Seeks opportunities to identify and improve practical new initiatives for compliance and continued safety and security at Darden
- Proactively addresses daily compliance gaps with customers (e.g., parking, access control, RSC events, warehouse, operations) in a professional and effective way that builds trust and confidence in Corporate Security
- Actively owns and manages personal development through coaching conversations and feedback from leaders (e.g., Supervisor), guidance and support from mentors and leaders, and selected training and educational opportunities
- Minimum of 2 years of Security Officer experience in large corporate environment, security operations center, hospitality, and/or applicable military experience
- Valid driver's license
- Experience producing reports and communicating in a timely basis
- Proven ability to monitor elaborate state-of-the- art camera systems, assist callers, and keep accurate reports
- Proven ability to manage in a critical environment and maintain standards
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Demonstrates strong organizational, time management, and administration skills
- Demonstrates ability to apply business understanding towards providing solutions
- Strong desire to analyze entire operational environment and make recommendations for improvement
- Possesses good interpersonal skills and attention to customer service
- Adheres to Company standards and methodology
- Communicates (verbal and written) effectively
- Consistently demonstrates a high level of integrity and professionalism
- Ability to drive a vehicle
- Ability to stand on your feet and or walk for extended periods of time as well as walk up and down stairs
- Must be able to safely and consistently lift 25 pounds
- Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or college coursework in Criminal Justice or a related field preferred
- Bilingual preferred
- Must be flexible to work nights/weekends in a 24 hours 7 days a week operation
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred
- Knowledge of security technologies, such as access control, mass communication, and CCTV and Visitor Management systems preferred
