What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Dare2Care Pediatrics?
We are looking for a Medical Assistant with pediatric experience to manage and conduct clinical nursing aspects of a diverse patient-centered pediatric practice. Our pediatric practice seeks an experienced, enthusiastic nurse who loves children, enjoys fresh perspectives on pediatric care, understands flexible scheduling of patients, is willing to multi-task and manage several aspects of nursing care for the practice.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Triage of patients from birth to age 21
- Immunization administration and injection administration (IM, SQ and intradermal)
- Knowledge of GRITS and Newborn screening (SENDSS) and vaccine inventory
- Capillary blood draws
- In-house lab procedures: rapid flu, RSV, H.Pylori, Urinalysis, Lipid and glucose
- History collection and data entry into EMR
- EMR familiarity and comfort (PCC is our EMR)
- Clinical quality measures oversight and management
- OSHA/HIPAA coordination and training
- Inventory management for vaccines, medical supplies, patient samples, formulas, medications
- Emergency crash cart management and usage
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required, PALS will be provided later
- Administration of nebulizer treatments and use of spirometry
- Arrangement of continuing educational seminars with CHOA and other organizations
- Coordination of Reach Out and Read Program -Early literacy
- Assistance with simple bed-side procedures such as urethral catheterization, incision and drainage of abscesses, ear irrigation, wound debridement, suturing and removal, removal of foreign bodies
- Should be a good team player
- Should seek feedback and be responsive to ideas and willing to adapt
- Should be willing to maintain certification and continue to learn new developments in pediatrics
- Should be willing to learn various aspects of the office such as telephone and front desk and referrals
- Should take initiative to call patients to check on improvement and also to schedule preventative visits pro-actively
This Medical Assistant should be comfortable with both preventative and acute care, while demonstrating compassion, precision, enthusiasm, and a sincere dedication to equal and quality pediatric care for all children.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
