Warehouse Assistant and Relief Driver

Dari Mart Inc is seeking a multi-skilled, hardworking and efficient warehouse assistant/relief driver with a proven track record of ensuring the smooth functioning and running of all warehouse concerning activities as well as driving a route. Must be able to follow standard operating procedures and work in a methodical and tidy manner. Warehouse Assistant Duties:

• Receiving, moving, checking and storing incoming goods.
• Checking and inspecting goods received and ensuring they are of accurate quantity, type, and also acceptable quality.
• Helping to ship out over 500 lines every day.
• Picking and packing products.
• Selecting space for storage and arranging for goods to be placed in the designated areas.
• Making sure that all inventory processes are completed on the same day.
• Loading and unloading trucks, vans and other vehicles.
• Helping maintain warehouse tool, machinery and trucks.
• Labelling goods that have arrived at the warehouse.
• Operating a forklift, hand truck and pallet jack.
• Good customer service on the phone as well as in store deliveries.
• Preparing deliveries for the truck drivers.
• Moving and organizing stock.
• Ensuring a clean and safe workhouse for staff to work in.
• Relief driving for 5 different straight box truck routes.
• Signing off and replenishing stock.
• Monitoring stock levels.
• Accurately pulling loads from computer and picking loads for drivers.

Relief Driver Responsibilities:

• Unloading and loading of products on and off box trucks and in and out of stores
• Follow routes and time schedules
• Fulfill administrative needs, such as office pickups
• Establishes and maintains outstanding relations with customers
• Reviews placement of merchandise, follows safety and lifting protocols during deliveries and conducts safety reviews of vehicle, pallets and surrounding areas

Position Requirements:

• Warehouse experience preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Ability to lift and transport up to 30 to 75 lbs
• Must have driver's license and be insurable through company insurance.
• Must have or be able to obtain a forklift certification within 30 days of hire
• Must be able to work independently and with a team
• Be able to pass a preemployment drug test, physical and criminal background check
• Knowledge of supply chain management and related fields
• Excellent with numbers, literacy and organizational skills
• Delivering excellent customer service to store staff
• Ability to follow processes and procedure accurately
• A comprehensive understanding of safety procedures
• Able to work a 40-hour workweek
