Wellness Center Associate

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Wellness Center Associate is a part of the support staff responsible for meeting the needs of the membership and helps maintain an organized, safe, clean facility. The Wellness Center Associate answers questions and assists members regarding fitness programs, classes, personal training, and equipment.

Immediately Available:

• Monday - Friday - 3:00pm - 6:00pm
• Free Individual Membership for Employees plus discounts on programming and classes

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Greet every member cheerfully, acknowledge and interact with every member during your shift.
• Assist participants while they are using the facility and circulate among the members every 10-15 minutes.
• Perform basic Equipment orientations and answer member questions.
• Maintain a neat and clean Wellness Center by performing all outlined duties and addressing any areas that need immediate attention.
• Cooperate with co-workers to build a team atmosphere.
• Ensure highest level of customer service is provided to Y community and members.
• Some administrative duties. Will train.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong communication, customer service and problem-solving skills to facilitate positive relationships with members and other staff.
• Must possess skills and knowledge or have the capability and the willingness to learn the skills necessary to answer questions regarding fitness programs and classes and demonstrate equipment in the Wellness Center and Training Center.
• Must be certified in First Aid/Adult CPR/ AED by start date and maintain that certification for the duration of employment. Will certify.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to lift up to 45 lb. plates. Occasionally move/push/pull weights, machinery, benches, work out equipment.
• Occasionally kneel, crouch, stretch or be physically active.
• Frequently stand, sit, interact with members, staff, co-workers.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
