Darigold is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to be a part of Darigold’s plant team. The Maintenance Manager must possess the desire and ability to manage the maintenance and repair for all areas of the Plant. The successful candidate will be tasked with leading and developing a team of maintenance technicians in a plant that operates 24/7. The Maintenance Manager will work closely with the Plant Manager and collaborates with representatives of Corporate Engineering, the Quality Systems, Production, and Safety Managers. The ideal candidate for this role excels in a fast paced, rigorous environment and desires a dynamic, professional position that promotes continuous improvement focused work groups.
This position follows a standard Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM schedule. However, candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends, and other off-hours as needed.
What You Will Do
· The Maintenance Manager will serve as a true strategic partner within the facility by:
o Maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
o Oversee ammonia and glycol refrigeration systems.
o Administer department budget within established guidelines.
o Manage a safe working environment for all maintenance personnel.
o Maintain plant quality performance standards, assuring compliance with all HACCP, FMSA standards in alignment with maintenance practices.
o Work with Corporate Engineering to oversee Capital Expenditure items.
o Provide on- and off-hour emergency response to major equipment issues, damage control, and personnel assignment as needed.
o Supervise maintenance engineers ensuring ongoing training and development, safety assurance, and collaborative relations with operations.
o Ensure integration of maintenance, process controls and operations
o Deliver maintenance programs with an emphasis toward OEE based performance and industry KPI standards
o Work with a waste reduction mindset and drive continuous improvement in maintenance and production operations
What You Bring:
· Dairy, beverage, packaging or process industry background preferred.
· Demonstrated knowledge and experience with mechanical systems, fluid processing, control systems, boilers, carpentry, electrical, building maintenance, wastewater treatment and refrigeration systems.
· Must have schedule flexibility to work during emergency situations, weekends and off shifts as necessary.
· Prior experience managing in a 24/7 environment
· Prior experience with continuous improvement processes
Nice to Have’s
· Ability to analytically and systemically troubleshoot manufacturing processes and issues; ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical applications in food and/or dairy processing
· Fluent in Continuous Improvement Processes such as Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Process applications, and Standardized Procedural Development; ability to identify, assess, and develop department and process improvement projects and present financial justification
· Demonstrates flexibility in moving from operational to financial disciplines
· Ability to apply GMP procedures and practices to the system and ensure conformance
· Ability to perform daily checks and reports to ensure quality and production goals are met
· Computer literate in PC based applications in including Microsoft Office Suite, 11i, Oracle, EAM, and familiarity with PLC based process controls
· Ability and experience working with groups of individuals with varying levels of education, expertise, and backgrounds
· Ability to achieve results through management and direction of others
· Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
· Must be self-motivated and require minimal oversight or supervision
Education, Experience, and Certifications:
· Engineering Degree or related field. Extensive Dairy, Bottling, or Culture Industry experience could be considered in the absence of a degree.
· 5-10 years of experience in the maintenance/engineering field
· Supervisory experience 3-5 years; demonstrated ability to achieve results through effective management and leadership of others
· Experience in capital project management, including handling vendors and contractors and installation commissioning
· Experience in Microsoft Office, CAD, Oracle, 11i, EAM
· Experienced with Process Control Systems
