What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Specialist position at Darigold, Inc.?
Darigold is seeking an Operations Specialist with 3-5 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage various responsibilities including data entry, reconciliation, ship confirmations, and reporting tasks. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Operations Specialist will accurately record production and shipments of finished products, manage inventory usage, and warehouse movements. This role requires daily reporting utilizing Excel and analytical skills, with occasional overtime to meet project deadlines.
What You Will Do
- Production reporting and reconciliation – data entry of production activity in Enterprise systems, compile data and report out on results.
- Close production batches for bulk and finished good items. Check for pending, WIP, completed batches. Audit ingredient and packaging usage and work with the plant finance team to submit bill of material updates. Analize potential variances associated with changes.
- Receiving of milk and cream loads into the plant, retrieve and enter lab results. Report out on discrepancies and work with corporate teams to reconcile.
- Complete Settlement of intercompany and third party milk loads into and out of the plant.
- Conduct a daily mass balance, provide insight into plant performance, and identify when abnormal losses occur. Research losses and confirm all transactions were completed correctly.
- Finished good, Packaging and Ingredients adjustments based on cycle count results.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field preferred.
- Strong financial acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process optimization and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Willing to work occasional weekend-day/holidays to meet deadlines
Nice to Have’s
- Previous experience with inventory management systems and best practices for inventory control can be valuable for optimizing inventory levels and minimizing waste.
- Experience working with enterprise systems (Oracle a plus) and reporting tools.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as production, quality assurance, and logistics to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
