Job Overview:
Darin Warfield Lawn & Landscape is seeking a reliable and dependable backup/sub driver to join our crew. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting bulk materials safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance, as well as excellent communication skills. The Driver will operate either a single cab, extended cab or crew-cab pickup truck with either 10ft , 12ft ,14ft, or 16ft tandem axle bumper pull dump trailer.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport all types of bulk material to designated locations.
- Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling and operation of the dump trailer
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
- Assist in any odd jobs around the yard when required.
- Operate heavy equipment when required, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
Qualifications
- Must be 16 years of age or older
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Experience pulling and operating dump trailer(s) behind a single cab, extended cab or crew-cab pickup
- Ability to communicate clearly with other crew members through two way radio and cell phone.
- APPLICANT'S PAY WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF THE JOB IN WHICH THEY ARE ASSIGNED TO AND DELIVERING THE MATERIAL TO.
- Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
