RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand and uphold Dario’s core values and standards. Carry yourself in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
- Complete all functions associated with hosting, including answering phones, taking reservations, managing reservations and the waitlist, managing reservation and waitlist software, escorting guests to tables, answering guest questions and concerns, assisting with table clearing and setting, etc.
- Assist with many of the functions associated with wait assisting and table service, including watering tables, clearing tables, resetting tables, food running, taking direction from servers and bartenders, etc.
- Know, understand, and execute all of Dario’s service standards.
- Know, understand, and uphold Dario’s high standards and procedures for food safety and sanitation.
- Know, understand, and uphold Dario’s high standards for alcohol service.
- Prep and maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized host stand and other workstations.
- Thoroughly clean the host stand and other workstations, work surfaces, equipment, floors, and any other items inside and outside of the restaurant as necessary.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with guests.
- Build strong, professional, and respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Complete daily opening and closing procedures.
- Complete daily/weekly cleaning tasks.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in customer service, restaurant industry preferred.
- Interest in hospitality and the hospitality industry.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- A warm, friendly, and positive personality.
- Passion for hospitality, service, and the restaurant industry as a whole.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The restaurant environment can be loud and fast-paced, with many hazards such as equipment, machinery, sharp objects, hot surfaces, slippery floors, stairs, and ladders. Exposure to chemicals, fire, gasses, odors, and extreme temperatures is possible.
A Host is required to:
- Walk, bend, stoop, and stand for long periods of time.
- Use arms, hands, and fingers to grasp, lift, and control objects of varying sizes and weights.
- Use legs, back, arms, and hands to lift and move heavy objects.
- Use hands, arms, and shoulders for repetitive motions.
- Visually inspect items using close and distance vision.
- Inspect and evaluate items using taste and smell.
- Speak clearly and understandably. Hear and understand the speech of another person.
