Job Title: Yard Jockey (Non-CDL) with Forklift experience
Schedule: Monday through Friday
1st Shift: 7AM - Until
Starting Payrate: $21/hr, depending on experience
Job Duties:
-Trailer Movement: Safely operate yard jockey trucks to move trailers and containers to designated loading and unloading areas within the yard.
-Spotting: Position trailers accurately for loading and unloading by warehouse personnel or for storage purposes. -Inspections: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of yard jockey trucks to ensure they are in good working condition.
-Forklift experience is a must in case help is needed on the floor.
-Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating the yard jockey truck and working in the yard environment.
-Communication: Maintain clear communication with warehouse staff, supervisors, and other drivers to coordinate trailer movements effectively.
-Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of trailer movements, inspections, and any incidents or issues that occur during your shift.
-Maintenance: Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs for yard jockey trucks promptly to ensure they are addressed in a timely manner.
-Adherence to Schedule: Arrive on time for your shift and adhere to the designated schedule to ensure smooth operations in the yard.
Requirements:
-Valid Driver’s License: Although this position does not require a CDL, you must have a valid driver’s license.
-Experience: Previous experience operating yard jockey trucks or similar equipment is required.
-Working Conditions: The Yard Jockey will primarily work outdoors in all weather conditions.
-Physical Fitness: Ability to perform the physical tasks associated with the job, such as climbing in and out of the truck, coupling and uncoupling trailers, and conducting inspections.
-Safety Conscious: Strong commitment to safety practices and regulations.
-Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors effectively.
