Job Summary
The Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the fleet, ensuring customer base is provided prompt & efficient service by our team of drivers.
Hours: Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Essential Duties/Responsibilities

- Oversee vehicle maintenance operations, to include scheduled PMs and unscheduled maintenance of plant and collections fleet.
- Supervision of truck shop personnel and Route Supervisor in relation to daily operations of the fleet.
- Responsible for all routes and routing process; makes changes as necessary to ensure route efficiency; schedules all drivers ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
- Sets schedules and start times for raw materials transfer drivers to ensure a constant flow of material to the plant.
- Involved in hiring, training, and safety orientation of new drivers.
- Monitors DOT logs and driver timecards to guarantee drivers operate within regulations.
- Responsible for maintaining current accounts and enlisting new accounts in designated area.
- Provides prompt, efficient, quality service to all customers in area.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in route-based processes; to include:
- prior route delivery driving.
- supervision of route drivers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A driver's license with clean driving record.
- Can communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
- Highly organized; superior time management skills.
- Able to maintain composure in difficult situations; adaptable to changing situations.
- Leadership ability; able to direct and supervise others.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, bend, and kneel.
- Occasionally will assist with pushing, pulling, moving or lifting up to 100lbs.
- Regularly required reach with hands and arms.
Work Environment
Job functions will be carried out at a plant location, customer locations, and in company vehicle.
