Wastewater Lead

Job Summary

Supervises all wastewater operations at facility, including wastewater treatment equipment and facilities, storage facilities, daily wastewater sampling, and spray irrigation facilities, where applicable. Performs maintenance to wastewater system as needed.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Operate industrial wastewater operations in compliance with applicable permits and air pollution control.
• Assist with preparation of technical calculations and reports to regulatory agencies.
• Oversee spray field applications, as applicable.
• Monitor daily maintenance of wastewater and other environmental control systems.
• Supervise the work of others, troubleshooting and assuring compliance.
• Oversee periodic sampling as required.
• Ensure required documents are properly maintained.
• Expected to perform other duties as assigned.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Maintain appropriate wastewater certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of previous work experience with wastewater systems.
• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience, preferably in wastewater operations.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Self-starter; self-motivated.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Good with math, computer, and oral communication skills.
  
  

Physical Demands

• Frequently lifts up to 10 lbs. Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, climbing, pulling, pushing and crawling.
  
  

Work Environment

• Job functions performed outside in all types of weather; hot and humid in plant.
• In and around and working with moving parts and equipment.
