What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Sales Associate position at Darling x Dashing Boutique?
We are looking for Sales Associates with Friday-Sunday availability to join our team at DarlingxDashing in downtown Charlottesville. Our Sales Associates must have a passion for secondhand fashion and small businesses, confidence in technology and social media, excellent customer service and communication skills, in person and on the phone, and an eye for organization and cleanliness and attention to detail. A passion for content creation is a strongly desired.
Our shop specializes in curated consignment and local artisan goods for a feminine and masculine aesthetic. We are a super rad, growing team, hoping to bring on people passionate about working for a small business. We look forward to adding new team members this Spring!
**Ideal availability and current shifts:**
Fridays: 10:45-3, 12-5, and/or 2-6:15
Saturdays: 9:45-2:15, 11-5, or 2-6:30
Sundays: 11:45-3 or 11:45-5:15
Pay range: $14.25-$15.50/hr
***Must be 18 or older to apply.
We are seeking year round, long term employees, NOT seasonal help.

Requirements:
- weekend availability with some holidays is required
- reliable transportation
- competency with social media, computer based point of sale systems, Google drive & Google sheets
- must be able to easily make small talk and chat with customers & consignors
- must have an eye for current styles and trends
- must be able to stand and walk for up to 6 hours a day and must be able to lift loads of clothes on hangers and other shop supplies
Tasks include:
- Sales and Customer engagement
- Dressing room management and shop floor organization
- Managing communication coming in from various platforms (email, phone, social media)
- Shared content creation responsibilities.
- Receiving and processing online orders for pick up or shipping
- Changing the mannequins or selecting pieces for a styled social media task, etc.
- Independently manage daily social media tasks and posts on Instagram through a multi app / multi step social media posting process
- Managing all register transactions using all forms of payment
- Competency with Google drive & Google sheets
Tasks include:

- Checking a consignor’s balance / issuing store credit or handling consignor payment requests
- Understanding our consignment inventory system and POS
- Competency with Google drive & Google sheets
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.50 - $15.50 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 16 per week
