What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Head Start Education Administrator position at DARLINGTON COUNTY COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY?
General Description: Works with staff, program coordinators, contracted specialists, and community partners to deliver quality education services to the children and families of Early Head Start. Responsible for the administration of the early education component.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood or related field.
- Three-plus years of early childhood classroom experience.
- Three-plus years of management and supervision experience.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Responsible for the supervision of the early childhood education staff.
- Conducts classroom visits to observe staff/teamwork, classroom environment, activities, curriculum implementation, etc.
- Prepare, collect, aggregate, and analyze data to ensure continuous improvement in program operations.
- Must obtain CLASS Observation certifications in Infant/toddler during the first year of employment. Certifications must be maintained annually.
- Provide feedback on data and opportunities for continuous improvement to the Education Coordinator and Head Start/Early Head Start Program Director.
- Coordinate with the Mental Health/Disabilities Manager, Education Coordinator, and other service area staff to make provisions for special needs children.
- Supervises the implementation of planned activities following the Creative Curriculum and Head Start Performance Standards.
- Assist the Education Coordinator and staff to ensure children's smooth transition from Early Head Start to Head Start.
- Assists the Education Coordinator with planning ongoing training and professional development for the early education staff.
- Plans and attends meetings and conferences as delegated by the Education Coordinator and/or the Head Start/Early Head Start Director.
- Reviews lesson plans for developmentally appropriate activities and documentation of individualization.
- Conducts periodic performance evaluations as required by the agency's policies.
- Assist the education staff with planning home visits, and conferences and attending both when necessary.
- Other related duties as assigned.
