What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Fundraising position at Darlington County Humane Society?
Overview
This position will report to the Business Operations Manager. This person will be the point of contact for all fundraising and donor development efforts, including support of the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including events, campaigns, grants, and donor development.
- Implements donor tracking system and donor list, which is searchable, editable and can be built upon.
- Prioritizes development opportunities and implements plans to target/solicit key donors in collaboration with the Executive Director, Business Office Manager and Board of Directors.
- Coordinates prospective donor meetings and tours with the Executive Director (manages calendar, sets meeting dates, etc.)
- Responds to inquiries of prospective donors on a timely basis.
- Creates and maintains donor appreciation and communication.
- Welcomes new donors and captures relevant information.
- Assists Executive Director with grant research and preparation.
- Coordinates stock gifts.
- Works to establish schedule of fundraising events throughout the year.
Qualifications
- Educational background—College diploma or equivalent.
- Professional demeanor and good communication skills with the ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills (record keeping, time management, follow up, etc.).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills.
- Relationship management-- ability to be persuasive and provide leadership to subordinates.
- Ability to create and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and sense of urgency, ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality and accuracy of work.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and reasoning ability.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to Relocate:
- Hartsville, SC 29550: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
