Duties
You would be overseeing the Activity Department, this is a Monday - Friday job and holidays if needed. We are a small owned family bussinees.
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive schedule of activities tailored to the needs and preferences of 78 residents.
- Plan and coordinate events that foster community engagement and enhance socialization among residents.
- Collaborate with caregiving staff to ensure activities are safe, enjoyable, and accessible for all participants.
- Provide individual support to residents during activities, offering assistance as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to continually improve programming.
- Engage with families and community members to encourage participation in events.
- Stay informed about best practices in dementia care and long-term care to ensure activities are appropriate and beneficial.
Experience
- Previous experience in Activity Director role for effectively coordinating various activities.
- Background in assisted living or caregiving is highly desirable, particularly with experience in dementia care or home community care settings.
- Familiarity with social work principles can enhance the ability to connect with residents on a personal level.
- Experience in event planning is beneficial for organizing successful programs that meet the interests of residents.
- A compassionate approach combined with strong communication skills will foster positive relationships within the community.
