5. Analyzes preventive/predictive maintenance program and makes adjustments as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Champions the safety of all employees through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
2. Supports and investigates electrical situations in which line/equipment stoppage or shutdown occurs due to perceived safety risk or machine malfunction to reduce product shortages and communicates this back to the Maintenance Manager.
3. Involved actively in risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventative actions to all machine electrical control systems.
4. Compliance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
5. Actively involved in safety and machine related topics (Management of Change (MOC), Non-Routine Task Hazard Analysis (NRTHA), Machine Verification Process (MVP), etc.)
6. Through detailed electrical machine analysis, establish quality for all company customers and implements corrective action to ensure product in its highest regard.
7. Uses root cause analysis to investigate machine related electrical/electronic issues and plant facility equipment accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
8. Communicates with Maintenance Manager to resolve all plant related electrical opportunities.
9. Collaborate and facilitate both inside Darnel team members and outside vendors/contractors while working on the property or facility.
10. Provide practical mechanical assistance for other departments and technicians at times.
11. Purchase/request required electrical parts and equipment for the facility, including cost justifications and analysis.
12. Heavily involved in internal equipment installations, electrically.
13. Performs other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager.
Requirements
Skills:
· High School diploma or GED is required. Individuals with 2 – 4 year technical degree desirable.
· In addition to the educational requirements, previous manufacturing/facility experience a must Plastic/Foam Extrusion and Thermoforming experience a plus.
· Ten (10) years of Industrial Electrical Maintenance experience or equivalent on the job training.
· Expert electrical skill set and understanding of facility equipment up to and including Thermoformers, extruders, plant electrical distribution, vacuum systems, etc...
· Firm understanding of Electronic Controls up to and including PLC’s, servo motors, and VFD’s.
· Must be able to speak, write, and read effectively.
· Great comprehension skills at an advanced business level.
· Must possess solid verbal and written communication skills.
· Must have solid computer literation.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
· To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
· The employee must be able to occasionally climb platforms or ladders to train/assist employees with job duties, lift up to 35 pounds, and be able to work up to and including 10–12-hour shifts.
· Must be able to work safely in the vicinity of open flames, hot foam, oil and metal (at approximately 350-450 degrees). There is possible exposure to dust and odors from various substances such as oil, molten plastic/foam, degreasers and cleaning solvents.
· Ability to utilize a variety of computer software (Microsoft products preferred).
· Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and to handle multiple assignments and/or projects simultaneously.
· Ability to communicate safety, goals and Company expectations with appropriate levels of the organization; create clear, timely audience appropriate messages (both written and verbal).
