Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable After-school Program Coordinator to join the Darrell Lee Jenkins, Jr., Resource Center (DLJJRC) team.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for instructing, planning, implementing and executing engaging, educational activities.
This individual will oversee the operations of After-School Program, this role involves working closely with students to enhance their understanding of various subjects, providing levels of personalized support, and fostering a positive learning environment. The After-school coordinator will play a crucial role in helping students achieve their academic goals and build confidence in their abilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop customized lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and student learning objectives.
- Lead and coordinate arts, crafts and music learning program initiatives
- Foster a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes participation, engagement and motivation.
- Collaborate with teachers and volunteer (educational) staff to identify areas where students may need additional support.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and feedback on performance.
- Stay updated on educational best practices and incorporate innovative teaching strategies into sessions.
Skills
- Proven experience working with students in an educational setting, demonstrating patience and adaptability.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey concepts to students.
- The ability to motivate and inspire students while fostering a positive learning experience.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple students' needs and schedules efficiently.
