Job Description :

  • Position Summary

The safe operations of yard equipment in loading and unloading of rail cars

  • Essential Functions

    • Perform pre and post trips on equipment

  • Chassis inspection and reporting
  • Transfer containers between modes of transportation with use of hostler / capacity
  • Load and unload of rail cars with use of overhead crane
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner and in accordance to all company policies
  • Perform Ground duties
  • Required to climb on and off rail cars locking down boxes

    • Hostler / Capacity (Yard Dog) experience preferred

    Required Certifications / Licensing / Education / Training :

  • Education :

    • High School Graduate, General Education Degree (GED), or Work Equivalent

  • Other Requirements :

    • Clear Criminal Background

  • Valid, current drivers' license
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen

    • Subject to random testing

  • Familiarity with CFR 49 regulations

    • Job Requirements :

  • Physical Demands and Requirements

    • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Yard

  • Steel Toe Boots
  • Ability to lift greater than 25 lbs on a regular basis
  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, bend frequently
  • Work Environment

    • Outdoors in weather elements
