Available Positions:
- Lead Teacher (1 position)
- Content Area Teachers (3 positions)
- ELL/Study Skills Support Teacher (1 position)
Program Overview:
- Location: Darrow School campus, Berkshire Mountains
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1:00-6:00 PM
- Term: August 25, 2025 - March 13, 2026
- Student Population: International students, grades 9-12
- Class Size: Small groups ensuring individualized attention
- Curriculum: Fully accredited college preparatory program
Teaching Responsibilities:
Lead and content area teachers will teach 4 classes daily in one of the following subjects:
- Mathematics (Geometry through Pre-Calculus)
- Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, plus electives such as Forensics or Environmental Science)
- History (World History, US History, plus electives)
- English Language Arts (High School levels 1-4, based on student proficiency)
Additional Role-Specific Responsibilities:
Lead Teacher will:
- Facilitate communication between Darrow School and ACA
- Provide support and guidance to teaching staff
- Oversee student academic progress
- Coordinate with athletic program leadership
ELL/Study Skills Support Teacher will:
- Provide academic support during school hours
- Supervise evening study hall
- Schedule flexibility based on student needs
All Teachers will:
- Serve as student advisors
- Maintain regular communication with parents and coaches
- Participate in progress monitoring and assessment
- Use Darrow's Learning Management System for grade reporting and communication
Optional Residential Position:
For teachers interested in a residential role (August 2025-June 2026), housing and meals are available with additional responsibilities:
- One weeknight dorm supervision per week
- One weekend dorm duty per month
- Activity/Athletic leadership opportunities
- Participation in Darrow’s Hands-to-Work community learning/internship program
Qualifications:
- Independent school teaching experience preferred
- Experience with international students valuable
- Ability to teach multiple levels within subject area
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Commitment to supporting student-athletes
