Position Summary
The Lead Forklift Operator is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Supervisor lead a team of associates to achieve a variety of goals that include productivity, outstanding quality/customer service, maintaining a safe work environment, and employee relations (keeping moral high).
Responsibilities
- Function as the team lead when supervisor is not present by answering employee questions, troubleshooting problems, and promoting efficient operations.
- Maintain a clean, professional, and safe working environment.
- Directs and coordinates the activities of the warehouse operators in loading and unloading trucks and proper handling of various products.
- Assists warehouse operators when needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Assists in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
- Assists in training new and current operators.
- Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years warehouse/inventory experience required.
- Requires experience managing people/budgets.
- 2 years supervising warehouse/inventory staff preferred.
- Computer and database application skills.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Ability to operate a lift truck.
- Forklift certification is required upon commencement of work.
- Must be able to lift and/or pull 50 lbs. without restriction.
- Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including weekends and potentially holidays as needed.
