Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Catering Prep/Event Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in high-volume kitchens, with a strong understanding of kitchen sanitation, food safety procedures, and event-based food production. This position will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes for events, following recipes and chef instructions, and ensuring all food is prepared in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining cleanliness and organization.
What You’ll Do:
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment to produce food according to recipes and chefs’ instructions
- Safely operate kitchen equipment and adhere to cleanliness standards, ensuring all equipment is maintained and sanitized
- Follow proper culinary techniques to prepare food in a consistent and high-quality manner
- Ensure the proper storage of food products, both raw and prepared, to meet safety standards
- Pay close attention to detail when preparing and presenting food
- Multitask effectively to meet daily food production and event service needs
- Manage time effectively to meet daily production thresholds and ensure timely service during events
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth kitchen operation
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines
What We Need From You:
- 3 years of experience working in a high-volume kitchen (preferred)
- Thorough understanding of kitchen sanitation and food safety procedures
- Open availability to work 7 days a week, with hours based on business needs
- Ability to safely operate all kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness standards
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow recipes and chef instructions
- Ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment while maintaining food quality and safety
- Effective time management skills to meet production goals and event timelines
