Position Purpose	Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Involvement, the Assistant Director of Student Involvement supports institutional community programs facilitated by Student Involvement, student organization training and advising, late-night programs, and class council events and activities. Position frequently requires evening and weekend hours.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp	Bachelors plus 1-2 year(s) of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities	Bachelor's degree in related field. 1-2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Willingness to work irregular and flexible hours. Awareness of developmental issues of college-age students. Demonstrated ability and commitment to fostering development of and building strong relationships with students. Proven commitment to diversity and serving the needs of a diverse population. Strong interpersonal skills in effectively working with students, faculty, and staff. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects. Demonstrated experience working both independently and collaboratively. Ability to address challenges collaboratively and creatively. Demonstrated skills promoting pluralism and intercultural understanding. Leadership, organizational and programming skills.
Preferred Qualifications	Master's degree in related field. Knowledge of the operation of sound, lighting, and audio-visual equipment. Knowledge of basic web design, photoshop, and graphic design. Knowledge of Dartmouth student community and programs strongly encouraged.

Key Accountabilities

Description

Program Development and Management

Coordinates and facilitates Collis After Dark, a weekly late-night events program, including management of the budget and finances for the program.
Trains, develops and supervises a team of Collis After Dark student interns.
Actively creates and enhances programs and services that will appeal to an increasingly diverse campus population and will enhance students' educational and co-curricular experience.
Provides staff support as needed for the management of the Collis Center on evenings and weekends.

Student Organization Support

Develops resources for students, clubs and organizations, and college departments including aspects of event planning, campus programming, campus policy interpretation, and risk and financial management.
Coordinates and facilitates leadership training opportunities, especially related to effectively managing student organizations and coordinating and promoting events.
Advises student organizations as assigned, including Friday Night Rock and DAARTS.

Program Coordination and Support

Assists in coordinating and facilitating major annual events including New Student Orientation, Homecoming/Bonfire, Winter Carnival, Green Key Weekend, and Senior Week events.
Manages student participation in construction of the Homecoming bonfire, including all necessary risk management and safety considerations.
Coordinates and manages the Winter Carnival Polar Bear Swim, including all necessary risk management and safety considerations.

Percentage Of Time

Description	General administration Markets programs, opportunities, and services to students through social media, websites, student organization management systems, etc. Serves on various ad hoc and standing Divisional and College committees.
