Position Purpose
The Arthur L. Irving Institute’s Engagement Program is responsible for informing, further enabling, and promoting our pioneering research and educational initiatives and building a robust community that leverages the collective expertise and participation of our students, faculty, and alumni, as well as external industry partners, policy makers, philanthropies, and journalists. The Digital Communications Specialist reports to the Institute’s Director of Communications, Marketing and Engagement and is responsible for helping to raise the profile of the Institute and inspire expanded stakeholder participation in the Institute’s work through a variety of digital media platforms.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge And Abilities
- At least two years’ experience related to digital marketing
- Skills in website and social media development and management
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of integrity; excellent judgment and discretion with sensitive issues
- Meticulous attention to detail; efficient and able to prioritize and work on multiple projects on deadline
- A portfolio of online content that demonstrates proficiency in digital media
- Proficient in basic computer software packages, including MS-Office word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications, and Google Drive
- Ability to quickly learn content management systems and digital marketing software (e.g., Adobe Suite, Drupal, YouTube, Encompass/iModules, major social media platforms)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in team settings
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, film, media, visual arts or related field
- Communications and/or marketing work experience in energy, climate, or environmental organizations, and/or higher education
- Experience with brand building and positioning

- Work collaboratively with the Dartmouth Office of Communications and the Advancement Communications team.
- Establish and maintain professional and productive relationships with vendors and with faculty, students, and staff across Dartmouth.
- Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary : $60,600 - $75,800
