Position Purpose
To set up and conduct a variety of laboratory tests and experiments in support of research studies directed the development of immunotherapy for neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease and ALS.

Bachelors plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Competence in several laboratory methods, procedures and techniques as well as the equipment and instruments. Follow all lab and biological safety procedures. Excellent communication and written skills are required. Willingness to work with/be exposed to mice, human tissues and specimens, hazardous materials such as radioactive materials, infectious materials, and/or hazardous chemicals. Knowledge of computers and software applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Be an effective part of a dynamic research team and work in collaboration with others to achieve experimental and project goals. Ability to work independently with good judgment and with good organizational and time management skills. Course work and/or research experience with neuroscience or immunology

Description
- Conducts laboratory experiments/tests, utilizing a range of established methods, procedures, and techniques with necessary preparations, observes experiments, records observations and maintains laboratory records in a timely manner.

- Prepares appropriate and understandable representations of data such as graphs, charts, tables, statistical summaries, etc. Helps to analyze data resulting from experiments. Summarizes results and helps to prepare progress reports.

- Instructs others in laboratory methods, procedures, and techniques and provides technical guidance and direction as required. Maintains computerized records associated with laboratory activities.

- Laboratory maintenance including order lab supplies (backup is to be emailed to the M&I office asap upon placing orders); monitors laboratory equipment and instrument performance; obtains maintenance and repair as necessary.
