Dartmouth Medical Centers is seeking an Inventory Specialist who ensures effective coordination of all activities between the Invasive Cardiology Lab or Interventional Radiology and Supply Chain. Maintains storeroom and researches inventory problems. Collaborates with assigned personnel to expedite delivery of supplies. The ideal candidate will have experience with counting and auditing, prioritizing purchase orders based on supply utilization, and prior knowledge of tracking purchase orders in PeopleSoft.
This is a Full Time, 40hr per week, benefitted position. Monday-Friday 6:30am-3pm.

Responsibilities
- Oversees coordination of all Invasive Cardiology Lab or Interventional Radiology supply chain activities including inventory management and distribution, new product integration and vendor access management.
- Works as liaison for Invasive Cardiology Lab or Interventional Radiology interests in all aspects of product and/or service contractual agreements including but not limited to initiating and monitoring between all parties involved such as Vendors, Supply Chain, Legal, etc.
- Works as liaison between physicians, Invasive Cardiology Lab Manager or Interventional Radiology Manager, Supply Chain, Vendors and process improvement teams to prioritize and coordinate product, service and process related value analysis initiatives.
- Provides coordination and oversight of Invasive Cardiology Lab or Interventional Radiology product trials including cost reductions reviews ensuring appropriate advance planning, communication, data collection and analysis.
- Assists in development and monitoring of annual operating budget.
- Works closely with leadership team to conduct cost-benefit, cost-minimization and cost-efficiency analyses, verifying accuracy and completeness of all assumptions underlying cost analyses that may impact product, service and process related expenditures.
- Maintains knowledge in all aspects of the electronic inventory systems. Assumes independent responsibility for the storeroom inventory by conducting cycle counts, spot checking orders, and submitting adjustments to be entered into the computer system.
- Manages the flow of materials and supplies entering and leaving the storeroom. Troubleshoots material flow issues. Ensures adequate rotation of all supplies and properly dispense of expired or recalled products.
- Collaborates with Purchasing to expedite delivery of stock orders.
- Acts as a resource to others concerning storeroom inventory problems in Dispatch, Scanning, Receiving and Purchasing, resolving.
- Acts as the resident expert concerning all product questions, information, etc.
- Adjusts order points and amounts to reflect usage.
- Collaborates with Receiving on problems encountered in receiving stocked items into the computer system.
- Communicates with appropriate departments upon arrival of new products and deletions of old products.
- Transitions slow moving items out from inventory.
- Maintains correct labeling of stock items checking product numbers, packaging, and locations.
- Alerts departments on cost saving opportunities for products ordered outside which could be obtained through the Storeroom.
- Negotiates with manufacturing representatives on removing or trading out obsolete items and recalled products.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- High school graduate with 5 plus years of experience managing and tracking inventory and knowledge of contractual agreements. AS degree preferred.
- Previous clinical or supply chain experience preferred.
- Previous cost analysis and vendor relations experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills and organizational skills required.
- Knowledge of MS Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as using an MRP system (PeopleSoft preferred).
- Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter.
- Prior clinical work experience in a surgical setting (which involves responding to emergency situations and tight schedules) preferred.
- Previous experience taking part in or facilitating continuous process improvement teams desired.
