What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mail Clerk - Driving position at Dartmouth Health?
Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
Responsible for the preparation, sorting, and external delivery of inter-office and U.S. Postal Service mail. Processes outgoing mail and keeps track of cost centers and total volume and postage.
Responsibilities
- Processes USPS outgoing mail using electronic scale and postage meter.
- Receives and sorts USPS incoming mail and inter-office mail according to procedures.
- Loads and drives truck between Mail Center distribution building and DHMC campus
- Delivers mail on delivery routes within DHMC campus. Picks up all outgoing mail from delivery points. Delivers express, perishable, and certified items and scans qualified items for delivery record.
- Sorts and organizes mail for offsite locations, interfacing with Vital Delivery couriers.
- Organizes and documents mail for Mail Consolidator.
- Provides window service to customers by selling stamps, postal stationery and imprinted postage for personal items. Documents cash, credit and debit card transactions and daily count of cash on hand. Maintains stamp inventory.
- Maintains the security of items of value on site and ensures confidentiality of information concerning patients or correspondence.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Pass medical evaluation for driving DHMC truck by Occupational Medicine.
