Job Title: Patient Care Attendant
Position Summary
The Patient Care Attendant performs critical patient care activities, including close observation and assistance with daily living tasks. The role requires maintaining a safe and clean environment according to MAHHC policies and procedures.
The PCA intervenes promptly to prevent harm to patients at risk of injury due to confusion, delirium, self-destructive behavior, or high fall likelihood. Collaborating with the healthcare team ensures timely interventions for patient safety and supports smooth workflow.
This position may be assigned to various departments based on hospital needs, including Acute, Rehab, or Emergency Departments.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is desired; part-time positions may be held by high school students.
- Experience: Previous clinical experience in a health-related field is preferred.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
- Computer experience is also beneficial.
