Overview

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center seeks a full-time Speech Language Pathologist to join our large rehabilitation team. In this role, you will evaluate and treat patients after surgery, illness, or injury. The position has the opportunity to serve both the inpatient and outpatient settings, dependent on candidate experience and departmental needs. The patient populations range from pediatrics to geriatrics, and spans numerous service lines. Our ideal candidate would have some hospital experience, a strong background in dysphagia, VFSS/FEES experience, though all are encouraged to apply.

Lebanon and the neighboring town of Hanover, home to Dartmouth College, are located in the “Upper Valley” which straddles the pristine Connecticut River, a national heritage river and includes 46 towns in western New Hampshire and eastern Vermont. This local region boasts excellent local schools, a myriad of cultural opportunities through Dartmouth College, as well as the Lebanon Opera House and Northern Stage in White River Junction, as well as an abundance of recreational opportunities. Responsibilities
  1. Performs evaluations, develops plans and goals, and executes treatments according to the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) Standards of Practice for Speech Language Pathologists.
  2. Maintain complete, accurate documentation and medical records in a timely manner and in the approved departmental and professional format.
  3. Perform comprehensive assessment and management of patients with acute disorders of speech, language, swallowing, voice, and cognition.
  4. Provide education to patients and their caregivers regarding evaluation findings, exercise programs, and management of care recommendations.
  5. Perform instrumental assessments of swallowing including Modified Barium Swallow Studies and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluations of Swallowing (FEES).
  6. Work collaboratively with referring providers, team members, and other staff to ensure patient safety during testing and to develop plan of care.
  7. Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Speech Pathology.

Required Licensure/Certifications

- Approved CFY with supervision and ASHA certificate of clinical competence required. - New Hampshire licensure required. - BLS Certification Required
